Cubic³ Design and Engineering Ltd have been working with Keltbray Rail to develop a new rail trailer mounted 2.5m³ volumetric mixer. The mixer is twist lock mounted and can be loaded onto a rail trailer with ease at a rail siding. The idea behind the mixer is for it to be towed on track by a Road Rail Vehicle (RRV) to the job site, the RRV can then load the mixer in-situ from either materials left at the location or from an additional trailer carrying materials for the concrete mix.

The compact mixer range has outputs of 25m³ per hour. Its main use will be supplying concrete for piling for overhead-electrification works. Mixing onsite allows for less traffic movements, less waste, improved concrete quality, improved work-ability and increased operational efficiency.
